start menu directories

hi everyone.
when i remove a programme from my computer, the programme goes how ever the directory it went in is still there. for example, if i removed goldwave the sub menu that says goldwave is still there, even though nothing is inside it.

does anyone know a way to remove the directories?

hmm, you could go to the goldwave folder don't open it or anything now press applications and press shift delete and confirm that you would want to delete the folder.

if you want to delete the short cut from your start menu just navigate to the goldwave option on the start menu and press your applications key and arrow down to delete or press the delete key when on goldwave. Also you can go into the start menu foler in your documments and settings/username folder (XP) or Users/username folder (vista) and delete the goldwave folder which will be empty
